Dual Synchronous Cell Interface Module (DSC)

The Dual Cell Bearing Synchronous Module is a compact sub-assembly that occupies one of the 15 slots available in the CX-1500. The Dual Cell Bearing Synchronous Module terminates two Synchronous Cell Bearing interfaces, recovers clock, accesses the ATM cells within the payload data stream, and sends these cells to the switching fabric. In the transmit direction the process is reversed. ATM cells are taken off the switching fabric, mapped and formatted into the payload data stream, which is then clocked out on the synchronous facility.
