Overview

The Transport 2000 Channel Service Unit (CSU) provides an intelligent interface between customer premise equipment and carrier T-1 facilities. The Transport 2000 CSU can be used with LINK/2+®, LINK/100+™, and SYNCHRONY® TX-3 Systems as well as digital PBXs, TimePlex Group Router Bridges, and other LAN router/bridges that have T-1 capabilities. The unit presents the required electrical interface to T-1 facilities and can reformat transmissions between D4 and ESF standards in either direction.

The multi-unit chassis of the Transport 2000 CSU holds up to 12 CSUs and can consolidate the CSU requirements of an entire network node. All the Transport 2000 CSUs in a network can be controlled from a centrally located unit. Configuration, status, and diagnostic commands can be issued to all the units at the local CSU. When a TIME/VIEW™ Network Management System is used, CSU alarms appear in TIME/VIEW's Alarm Integrator window.
