    Overview

    The Transport 3000 Channel Service Unit/Data Service Unit (CSU/DSU) provides an intelligent interface between customer premise equipment and carrier T-1 facilities The Transport 3000 CSU/DSU can be used with LINK/2+, LINK/100+, and TX3/SuperHub Systems as well as with digital PBXS, TIME/LAN 100 Router*Bridges, and other LAN router/bridges. The unit presents the required electrical interface to T-1 facilities and can reformat transmissions between D4 and ESF standards in either direction. Up to four high-speed data 1/0 ports may be configured to support any Nx56 kbps or Nx64 kbps speeds to a maximum unit speed of 1.536 kbps. In addition, a DSX drop/insert port may be configured for voice applications. Seamless integration of SNMP management capabilities and of LAN and WAN are provided by an integral SNMP management interface.

    The multiunit chassis of the Transport 3000 CSU/DSU holds up to 12 CSU/ DSUs and can consolidate the CSU/ DSU requirements of an entire network node. All the Transport 3000 CSU/DSUs in a network can be controlled from a centrally located unit. Configuration, status, and diagnostic commands can be issued to all the units at the local CSU/DSU. When a TIMEVIEW Network Management System (NMS) is used, CSU/DSU alarms appear in the TIMEVIEW Alarm Integrator window. Technical Specifications
