Product Marketing Update Product Withdrawal Notice

1. Reason for Withdrawal

Demands for the above listed modules have dropped significantly and are producing virtually no revenue. Product line support has become difficult due to component obsolescence. Since demand for these products is low these products are being withdrawn immediately.

2. Replacement Product

There is no replacement product available from MILGO for most of these modules. However, the following items can be accommodated:

PN850059-XX, replacement part number 850019-3912 (singlering) or (multiring).

The NMM has not been updated for many years and consequently does not support the more recent modules released nor the open issues resolved. Replacement for the NMM is the ENMM. The 850019-3912 replaces both the PN850019-27 (singlering) and the PN850019-38 (multiring) and is currently available. This version has been recently released to incorporate the singlering and multiring functionality along with 40+ open issues resolved.

PN8500XX PremNet Link Module

The revision –15 (supporting old installations) is being retired for all Unilink modules. For the SONET link modules, we will continue to maintain the Intermediate and Long Range version with the FC and ST and SC fiber connectors. All other SONET links will be retired. The T3 link module does not have a replacement module. The ATM OC-3C link module does not have a replacement module.

PN850057, High Density (32 port) RS232, has no direct replacement however, we still support the current 4 port RS232 I/O (PN850020-05).

PN Upgrade Kits, these upgrade kits were used during the introduction of Dual Main Ring and Multiring implementation. The latest firmware will still be available, but there has been no usage for any of these kits for some time.

3. Customer Notification

We recommend that the appropriate account manager notify your customers immediately via telephone. Additionally, we suggest that a confirmation letter be sent out to each of your customers following the initial telephone call.

4. Special Situations and Exceptions
1. Fulfilling Existing Contract Obligations

Any specific customer situations that may arise should be brought to the attention of the Marketing Office as soon as possible.

2. Concessions for Specific Accounts

No concessions have been identified or planned for specific customer accounts concerning the products identified.

5. Policy - Repairs After Withdrawal

Warranty periods are not changed by withdrawal.

MILGO will continue to provide repair and rework services subject to availability of the necessary parts for the configuration and release level that were in effect upon the Last Order Date per Warranty and/or contract agreements.

6. Policy - Technical Support After Withdrawal

MILGO will continue to provide technical support for installation and configuration services for the Product for one (1) year from the Last Order Date or as per Warranty or Contracted agreements.
